We understand you might have questions before hiring a room at The Chippendale Centre. Below are answers to the most common queries, designed to make your booking experience as smooth as possible for our community in Otley.
Is The Chippendale Centre wheelchair friendly?
Our two downstairs rooms, kitchen and toilet are fully wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, there is no lift to the upstairs room.
Are there toilets available at the centre?
Yes, toilets are available in all areas of the centre for your convenience.
Can we use the kitchen equipment?
Yes, you are welcome to use our kitchen equipment. Please note that any food or drink consumed must be supplied by the hirer.
Are we responsible for cleaning after use?
We kindly ask that you leave the premises in the condition you found it. This includes returning furniture to its original place. If you use the kitchen for food preparation, please empty the kitchen bin and sweep the floor.
How do we pay for room hire?
For regular bookings, invoices are sent at the end of every month, quarter, or annually, as agreed. For one-off bookings, an invoice will be sent to you once your booking is confirmed.
Will someone explain the centre's facilities and safety procedures?
Yes, our secretary will meet with all hirers prior to the booking to explain where everything is and to go through our fire evacuation routine. A second meeting is also planned after booking to cover Health & Safety and Fire regulations in detail.
What kind of activities are your rooms suitable for?
Our versatile rooms are perfect for a wide range of activities and events, including sit-down meals, painting clubs, choirs, card playing, loneliness groups, coffee mornings, and fundraising activities. The possibilities are endless for our Otley community!
Do you encourage potential hirers to visit before booking?
Absolutely! We strongly encourage a meeting with our secretary so that potential hirers can see the facilities for themselves and ensure they meet your specific needs.
